Your first question should be “Why?” “What’s in it for me?” Darn good question. You’ve already got plenty to do. Why a coach? Think about the results you’re getting in school. What if they could be better? And you could feel better about school and yourself? I am a coach. Athletes have coaches. Business executives have coaches. Celebrities have coaches. More and more students of all ages have coaches. Why? Sometimes the hardest part of learning isn’t the learning itself but it’s everything else around it. That’s what TigerTiger is about. We take apart the “everything else” and make it manageable. Lots of “Ah, ha. That’s how you do it!” The difference is that I’m not telling you what to do. I ask questions. Give examples. Share strategies. You take them and figure out what works best for you. That’s what coaching is. I’m not authority telling you what to do. I stand beside you looking at what you’re looking at. It’s a coaching relationship designed to help you help yourself. And I’ve got a boatload of strategies to employ when the going get’s tough. And when you’ve done that, I’ll fade into the background. Or disappear entirely. In fact that’s my goal. To get you to where you don’t need me. Maybe you get distracted from doing your work by something more fun. Or you have trouble getting your work started. Do you find you forget new information? Perhaps you can’t stand it when plans are changed on you. Or your emotions get in the way of doing what you need to do. I work with some students who consistently lose track of time and then don’t have enough to finish their work. Or, give up on something before they’re done–I used to be really good at that annoying technique. Some students I work with find it hard to think or focus when feeling stressed. Many of them rarely make plans and when they do they fail to follow them. Another common issue is losing track of where you put your things. And underlying many of these issues is an uneasy feeling that you don’t know what direction you want your life to take. If any of these issues are familiar I would like to work with you to develop the skills to overcome them. I was where you are. I know what it’s like to be overwhelmed and to put more energy into avoiding a task than doing it. I know, it doesn’t make much sense but we do this kind of stuff. I love working with people like you because I know you’re tougher than think you are. If you’re motivated to make a change I’m stoked to work with you. It’s that simple. How TigerTiger works. I work one-on-one with students. Once a week we meet in person, or remotely (Zoom) for fifty minutes. You may also schedule 10-15 min. check-ins at other times during the week. We look at what’s working and what isn’t. We establish goals. We explore obstacles. You dare to commit to simple steps. We circle back and make sure it’s working. We laugh. We play around with alternative approaches. You’ll come to see the calendar or planner as a powerful tool. And experience how writing things down gives you added control and power over time and results. If you’d like, I’m ready to spend 20 minutes with you online to give you strategies you can use to get better results right away.
